Christianity has always been challenged by those who do not agree with good theology and sound doctrine. Today is no different with the exception that many modern groups claim to be a part of Christianity. This course will clarify how to identify cultic practices and how to understand and evangelize such believers. Seminars cost $50. Student taking this class will:

  • Define the term "Cult"
  • Identify groups that claim to be Christian and explain why they are not
  • Examine how the use of language and definitions of words are utilized by cultists
  • Determine various evangelical approaches to bringing cultists to Christ

What it means to be Christian

Many would suggest that Christianity is so large and different among adherents that there is no real definition of being Christian. But this is a false idea intended to discourage the children of God. The best approach to defining Christianity is though an orthodox systematic theology. The points are:

  • The Trinity (theology)
  • The Person of Jesus Christ (Christology)
  • The nature of Man and sin (Depravity)
  • Salvation and Redemption (Soteriology)
  • The nature of the Bible (Word of God)
  • The nature of the Church (Body of Christ)
  • The end of Time (Eschatology)
